Nature and historical monuments are strong reasons for becoming an unforgettable day.
With the visit beginning first in the Palace of Queluz, built in 1747 by D. Pedro III, husband of D. Maria I, both the interior of the Palace and the gardens are of a unique beauty. Then we go to Sintra. Here the green of the landscape intertwines with the historical monuments that symbolize the charm, the magic of the whole area. Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira are the monuments to visit on this tour.
We can not leave Sintra without tasting the sweets of the region. The cheesecakes and the pillows are delicious.
We continue towards Colares, where we will visit a winery and then pass several beaches along the way, including Azenhas do Mar, a village with a viewpoint, which offers a stunning and memorable landscape.
Back in Lisbon, we passed Cascais, a town that has become one of the most important summer destinations in the Lisbon area. It was once the place where the Portuguese monarchy remained during the summer, in the nineteenth century, and here also settled the European royalty at the time of the Second World War. The landscape consists of beautiful palaces, lighthouses, the 17th century citadel and fortresses.

Tour Description

Queluz Palace - built in 1747 by D. Pedro III, husband of D. Maria I, both the interior of the Palace and the gardens are of a unique beauty.
Built to be a summer residence, it was also the venue for large parties and banquets for the Royal Family. From 1794 until the departure for Brazil in 1807, at the time of the French invasions, the palace became a permanent residence.

Pena Palace - formerly a Convent, was restored by D. Fernando II in the nineteenth century and became the summer residence. In various styles, it is considered one of the seven wonders of Portugal. This Palace was the favorite of Queen D. Amelia, wife of King D. Carlos I. It was here that was served a lunch to the retinue of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom, when he came to Portugal in 1903.

Quinta da Regaleira - Also known as Monteiro dos Milhões Palace, nickname of the former owner, is a place that reflects in its architecture and in all the surrounding space, all symbols referring to his ideologies and interests. Here, the glorious past of Portugal from the height of the Discoveries is evoked, hence the neo-Manueline, gothic and classic styles. Also themes related to the Templars, alchemy and Freemasonry are present on this palace.

Colares - is a popular village as a summer resort. Here also the well-known Colares wine is produced. Nearby are some magnificent beaches: Praia das Macas, Praia da Adraga, Praia Grande and Azenhas do Mar, a village built on the rock and with a stunning landscape.

Cascais - the village has for some years been considered an important tourist destination. Surrounded by beautiful beaches, and with the sea and the old palaces as the main scenario, it is a beautiful way to end this tour, which will no doubt leave memories that will remain in your memory forever.
