In this half day tour of the city, we will visit Belém, one of the best known areas and with a fascinating historical heritage. We can not leave this place without tasting its best known sweet, the famous pastel of Belém. Then we follow to another important symbol of the city of Lisbon, the Castelo de S. Jorge and to finish our tour, we will walk the streets of one of the Lisbon's oldest and most typical neighborhoods: Alfama.

Tour Description

Jeronimos Monastery - built by D. Manuel I in the 16th century, is one of the most remarkable and representative of Manueline architecture. It is currently the National Pantheon and to emphasize the beauty of the front, the church-hall and the cloisters.
It has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983.

Belém Tower - one of the symbols of the city, was built in the 16th century and all its Manueline architecture dates back to the time of the Discoveries. It served at the time of its construction as a defensive bulwark of the river.

S. Jorge Castle - the scene of great battles and events that are important to the city's history, is situated on one of the seven hills of Lisbon. Be sure to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the city.

Alfama - considered to be the birthplace of fado, this narrow street neighborhood was once inhabited by aristocrats and later by many fishermen.
This neighborhood is known not only for the popular Santos celebrations, but also for the Fado houses and restaurants.
Walking these streets is simply enjoyable. Watching the old houses and imagining the centuries of history this place has is just one of the most rewarding moments along this tour and a splendid way to finish it. In the heart of the city.
